🥄 How to use it

List foods you know or suspect you react to and eliminate them for at least three weeks first. Then plan meals so that no single food (or foods from the same food family, like citrus or nightshades) is eaten more than once in a four-to-seven-day period. Keep a food diary noting any symptoms. Repeat the same rotation a second week, since carryover symptoms from before starting can blur the first week's picture. Any food that produces symptoms should be dropped from the rotation for at least three months.

How much: No single food (or food-family) more than once every 4-7 days, maintained as an ongoing habit.

Show full details & how to prepare it

Eating the same food every day raises the odds of becoming sensitive to it over time; spacing foods out on a rotation is thought to lower that risk and, for some people, gradually allow previously reactive foods to be tolerated again in modest amounts.

Ways to prepare it

What you'll need: A weekly meal plan grouping foods by family (e.g., citrus, nightshades, grains) so related foods aren't eaten back-to-back.

⚠️ Cautions

  • Requires planning and can feel restrictive at first — work with a dietitian if you have several known sensitivities to make sure the plan stays nutritionally complete.
  • Not a treatment for a diagnosed severe food allergy — avoid deliberately eating any food that has caused a serious reaction.
