1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly and some information automatically. This includes, but is not limited to:

Account information, such as your email address and any profile details you choose to share.
Community activity, such as votes, ratings, comments, saved items, and submitted remedies.
Your search history and Remy (our AI assistant) conversation history, when you are signed in.
Technical data, such as your IP address, browser type, and device information, used for example for rate-limiting, fraud prevention, and security.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to, including but not limited to: operate, maintain, and improve the Service; moderate community content and enforce our Terms of Service; protect the security and integrity of the Service; respond to reports and support requests; and, in aggregate and de-identified form, conduct research to improve how remedies are ranked and presented. We do not use your personal information for purposes unrelated to these without telling you.

3. Administrator & moderator visibility

To keep RemedyRank safe, trustworthy, and well-moderated, site administrators and moderators can view account activity — including votes, comments, submissions, saved items, and related account information — for purposes such as security, moderation, abuse prevention, and maintaining the integrity of the site. This access is limited to those who need it to perform these functions.

4. What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information, to anyone, for any reason. We do not run advertising on RemedyRank, and we do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Cookies & local storage

We use cookies and similar local-storage technologies for purposes such as, but not limited to: keeping you signed in (session management), recognizing anonymous voting so the same visitor cannot vote repeatedly, and remembering device preferences (like display settings). You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features of the Service may not work properly without them.

6. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may delete your own comments and your Remy conversation history at any time. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data, except where we are permitted or required to retain certain information for legitimate purposes such as security, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

7. Children's privacy

RemedyRank is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the report-a-problem link so we can remove it.

8. Third-party services

We rely on trusted third-party service providers to operate RemedyRank, for example for hosting, database storage, and AI processing of questions (such as those asked to Remy) and comments. These providers process data on our behalf and under our instructions. Some links on the Service are affiliate links, including through the Amazon Associates program (see our affiliate disclosure); if you click through to a third-party site, that site's own privacy policy will govern your interaction there, not this one.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as posting a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
