Cheeze Sauce - Cashew Based
Creamy cheese sauce made with cashews, carrots, and nutritional yeast
🧺 What you'll need
- 1/2 cup cubed, cooked Carrot (about 1 large carrot)
- 2 cups Water
- 1/4 cup raw Cashews (for non-high-power blender: soak overnight or boil for 5 minutes)
- 3 Tbsp. Nutritional Yeast Flakes
- 2 Tbsp. Cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice
- 1/2-1 Tbsp. Salt
- 1/2 Tbsp. Onion Powder
- 1/2 Tbsp. Garlic Powder (or more to taste)
👩🍳 How to make it
- 1BLEND Carrot, Water, and raw Cashews with high-power blender (For non-high-power blender, blend soaked/boiled cashews with 1/2 - 1 cup water first then add remaining water)
- 2ADD Nutritional Yeast Flakes, Cornstarch, Lemon Juice, Salt, Onion Powder, and Garlic Powder and blend until smooth
- 3HEAT in saucepan over medium heat until thick, stirring frequently
