Black Bean Brownies
Fudgy plant-based brownies made with black beans and carob or cocoa powder
🧺 What you'll need
- 3 cups cooked Black Beans, rinsed and drained very well or 2 (15 oz) cans of Black Beans, rinsed and drained
- 1/4 cup Carob Powder or Cocoa Powder
- 1 cup Quick Oats
- 1/2 cup Unsweetened Apple Sauce or Vegetable oil or Coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 2/3 cup Maple Syrup (Preferred) or Honey or Agave Nectar
- 1 Tbsp. Vanilla
- 1 tsp. Baking Powder (2 Tbsp if using Ener-G brand)
- 1 cup Carob or dairy-free Chocolate Chips and extra for sprinkling
👩🍳 How to make it
- 1PREHEAT oven to 350 degrees
- 2Prepare muffin tins with cooking spray
- 3BLEND Black Beans, Carob Powder, Quick Oats, Apple Sauce, Salt, Maple Syrup, Vanilla, and Baking Powder in a food processor or High-Power Blender until very smooth
- 4MIX in Carob Chips
- 5POUR into muffin tins about 1/2 full of batter
- 6Sprinkle with chips, if desired
- 7BAKE for 20-30 minutes until toothpick comes out clean
- 8Let cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan
