Herb

Licorice Root

This naturally sweet root has long been chewed and steeped to soothe a scratchy throat and calm a fussy stomach.

🌱 What it is

Licorice root comes from a legume plant whose long roots carry a natural sweetness many times stronger than sugar.

✨ How it may help

  • May help support a soothed, less scratchy throat
  • May help support comfort with occasional indigestion
  • May help support a calmer stomach lining short-term

🥄 How to use it

Sip as a tea, suck on a licorice-root lozenge for the throat, or use a special 'DGL' form for the stomach. Keep use short-term, about one to two weeks.

⚖️ Caution

Real licorice can raise blood pressure and lower potassium with regular use — avoid it if you have high blood pressure, heart or kidney problems, or are pregnant; DGL licorice avoids this concern.

🍃 A note from nature

Sweetness hiding underground in a plain root is a small, welcome surprise from a generous Creator.
