Herb
Corn Silk
The soft golden threads tucked inside an ear of corn, brewed gently to soothe the bladder and urinary tract.
🌱 What it is
Corn silk is the fine, silky thread found under the husk of an ear of corn, dried or used fresh and steeped as a mild, traditional tea.
✨ How it may help
- May help support a soothed, comfortable bladder
- May help support healthy urinary flow
- May help support the body's natural fluid balance
- May help support everyday urinary comfort
🥄 How to use it
Steep a small handful of fresh (or 1 teaspoon dried) corn silk in hot water for 10 minutes and sip two to three cups a day for urinary comfort.
⚖️ Caution
Acts as a mild diuretic, so stay hydrated and go easy if taking water pills; those with kidney disease or on blood-pressure or diabetes medicine should check with a doctor, and a urinary infection with fever needs medical care.
🍃 A note from nature
It's a tender thought that even the silk we usually toss away was tucked into the corn for a gentle purpose.
