Herb

Meadowsweet

A frothy, almond-scented meadow herb that gently eases an acid stomach, mild aches, and fevers — a soft, salicylate-bearing cousin of aspirin.

🌱 What it is

Meadowsweet is a frothy, almond-scented herb found in damp meadows, traditionally steeped as a soothing tea for the stomach and for mild aches or fever.

✨ How it may help

  • may help support a calmer, more settled stomach
  • may help support comfort during mild aches
  • may help support the body during a mild fever
  • may help support gentle digestive soothing after meals

🥄 How to use it

Steep the dried flowering tops as a pleasant tea. Unlike aspirin, the whole herb is soothing to the stomach lining rather than irritating.

⚖️ Caution

Contains salicylates — avoid if allergic to aspirin, if you take blood thinners, or are pregnant. Do not give to children or teens with a fever or viral illness, because of the risk of Reye's syndrome.

🍃 A note from nature

Meadowsweet's sweet, almond-like scent once made it a favorite strewing herb, scattered on floors in old English homes to freshen the air.
