Herb
Ginkgo Biloba
Leaf extract from one of the oldest living tree species, studied for supporting memory, circulation, and a sense of steady focus.
🌱 What it is
The ginkgo tree has grown on Earth for over 200 million years and is prized for its fan-shaped leaves, which turn brilliant gold in autumn. Those leaves are processed into a standardized extract used in capsules and tablets — a very different thing from the tree's seeds, which are not used this way and are not safe to eat.
✨ How it may help
- Traditionally used to support healthy memory and mental clarity
- Traditionally used to support healthy circulation
- Traditionally used to support comfort with occasional ear-ringing
- Traditionally used to support steady focus with age
🥄 How to use it
Taken as a standardized leaf-extract capsule or tablet, generally with food, following the product label.
⚖️ Caution
Ginkgo can thin the blood — avoid combining it with blood-thinning medicines, and stop it before any surgery or dental work; avoid with bleeding disorders. Only the processed leaf extract is used medicinally — raw or roasted ginkgo seeds are toxic and can cause seizures. Avoid the extract in pregnancy, breastfeeding, and in children, and check with a doctor if you have epilepsy.
🍃 A note from nature
A tree old enough to have stood since before the flowers bloomed still offers something useful today — a quiet picture of a Creator who plans for the long haul.
