Herb
Clove Oil
This warm, spicy oil from the clove tree has long been a bedtime-story remedy for a nagging toothache.
🌱 What it is
Clove oil is pressed from the dried flower buds of the clove tree, a tropical evergreen. Its natural numbing quality comes from a compound called eugenol.
✨ How it may help
- May help support brief relief from a nagging toothache
- May help support comfort in sore, irritated gums
- May help support a pleasant, spicy aroma in home use
🥄 How to use it
Dab a tiny amount of diluted clove oil on a cotton ball and touch it to the sore tooth or gum for short-term relief. A whole clove held gently near the tooth can also help. Never swallow the oil.
⚖️ Caution
This only eases pain for a short while — it does not heal the tooth, so see a dentist. Use sparingly and diluted, since undiluted oil can irritate the gums, and keep it away from young children.
🍃 A note from nature
Even a small flower bud, dried and pressed, carries a gift for an aching tooth — a quiet reminder that the Creator thinks of small comforts.
