Herb
Blackberry Leaf
The leaves of the humble bramble hold their own quiet, comforting gift, brewed into a soothing everyday tea.
🌱 What it is
Blackberry leaf comes from the same bramble that produces sweet summer berries. The leaves are dried and steeped as a mildly astringent tea.
✨ How it may help
- May help firm up an upset, loose stomach
- May help soothe a sore or scratchy throat
- May help support healthy gums when used as a gargle
- May help provide a gentle everyday tea
🥄 How to use it
Steep 1–2 teaspoons of dried blackberry leaf in hot water for 10 minutes and sip for loose bowels, or cool it and use as a gargle for a sore throat or sore gums.
⚖️ Caution
Blackberry leaf's astringency can be drying, so it isn't meant for long-term daily use; persistent diarrhea, or any with blood or fever, needs medical care and plenty of fluids.
🍃 A note from nature
The same bramble that gives us summer's sweetest berries also offers up its leaves — a plant that seems to keep on giving.
